Inspections / Fire Prevention

Clermont Fire Department provides fire and life safety inspections on a recurring basis for all commercial occupancies within the city as state law requires. City fire prevention inspectors enforce the Florida Fire Prevention Code as well as city ordinances. The Fire Marshal and other city fire inspection staff work together with the inspection staff of the Lake County Building Department to ensure proper fire and life safety in new construction as well as existing commercial occupancies within the city. The fire prevention staff also works with the city's Code Enforcement staff to eliminate unsafe conditions throughout the city.

As a member of the city's development review board, the Fire Marshal reviews site plans and meets with developers regarding development within the city. She has also worked with other city officials to update the city's ordinances and land development regulations to provide for improved fire protection and other emergency services.
