Code Enforcement Board Seeking Volunteers

nf-Code-Board-2024

CLERMONT (Feb. 2, 2024) Volunteering on a city’s advisory board is often the starting point for residents who want to get involved in the operations of their community.

Clermont’s Code Enforcement Board has vacancies and residents are encouraged to consider applying.

The Code Enforcement Board is a group of seven volunteers who hear and decide cases against property owners who are alleged to have violated the City Code. The cases presented are investigated by City staff and can result in hefty fines.

The most common code violations include unpermitted work, signs placed on City property, and improper property maintenance such as overgrown grass/weeds, unrepaired structural damage, or broken items left outside.

There are no special requirements for those interested beyond living within the City of Clermont and being a registered voter.

The Code Enforcement Board meets on the third Monday of every other month at Clermont City Hall, 685 W. Montrose Street. The next meeting is scheduled for March 16 at 6 p.m.

For more information and an application, click here, or call the City Clerk’s office at 352-241-7330.
