Tim Murry has served on the City Council since 2020.
Occupation: Mayor Murry worked for the United Parcel Service prior to entering the U.S. Air Force in 1975 and served for nearly 23 years before retiring in 1998. In 1999, he started a second career with the U.S. Postal Service, where he served for 21 years as a Growth and Management Technician.
Boards, Committees, Memberships: Mayor Murry serves as president of Christian Men in Action Community Development Corporation, vice president of Lincoln Park South Lake Alliance, INC, vice chair of New Jacob's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Board of Trustees and Family Matters Food Program; and as a member of South Lake Black Achievers, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Lake County Black Caucus. He served on the City of Clermont's Planning and Zoning Board, the City of Clermont's Code Enforcement Board, the South Lake Boys and Girls Club Advisory Board, the Lake and Sumter County Boys and Girls Club Corporate Board, the East Ridge Middle School Student Advisory Committee and the Citizens Advisory Task Force for Community Development Block Grant.
